Our Project Management division has overseen the management of the entire project and its adaptation to the UK market – from concept to delivery . This included design, cost, programme and process management. Construction drawings and visualisation were undertaken by our Retail Architectural team , while our Graphics Design department were tasked with creating interior graphics and production for the store. Quite uniquely, the spaces have been designed so that customers will be able to watch the Bäckermeisters (master bakers) in action and to experience how authentic German bread and baked goods are prepared and hand-finished. Additional products on offer will include freshly prepared sandwiches, hot and cold snacks and beverages.
Kamps sees its role as a traditional neighbourhood bakery, offering premium quality at affordable prices. rpa:group has created an exceptional bakery café for each of the two initial central London locations, so that guests are able to experience a feeling of comfort and familiarity with a particularly local feel. Careful use of space has been considered, with customers being able to order at a large and well-lit counter, from a bank of chalkboard-style menu panels. Various seating areas enable patrons to stay and eat and gives them an opportunity to observe the bakers in action. The overall look and feel of the space is modern and utilitarian, with striking exposed brickwork, steel lighting and finishes, while the frequent use of wood adds softening touches.
The initial Kamps bakery opened on the 12th of November at 154 Tottenham Court Road and a second will open on High Street Kensington on the 9th of December.
