Snowflake Luxury Gelato, an award winning premium gelato company has six kiosks and boutiques already profitably operating across London. The brand wanted to review its concept, with a view to implementing an expansion plan that could be fuelled by its existing success. rpa:group was engaged to bring this new concept to life, which commenced with a new high profile site in London’s Westfield shopping centre.
Drawing on traditional Italian and art deco themes, the new kiosk design is infused with contemporary influences; incorporating fluted bronzed glass, beautifully marbled and under-lit solid surface wrapped counters and sparkling polished internal fixtures.
Illuminated with pendent light fittings is an elegant bronze fretwork gantry, which spans the entire kiosk and incorporates the Snowflake iconography. This is continued in a more intricate scale on the counter face, with inlaid brass patterns and a backlit logo. The kiosk was designed to present the colourful multitude of flavours from the bespoke chiller units, which span the main service area. The crepe and waffle preparation area is on display to the public within a secondary elevation. These two areas collaboratively bring a strong element of sensory theatre to Westfield’s busy thoroughfare.
Forming part of Westfield’s redevelopment of their luxury food offer, the new 40sqm Snowflake kiosk in the main thoroughfare, offers the perfect platform to launch their updated concept. Not only does it provide a practical working environment, it also beautifully showcases the broad and popular product offering.
