Located on the busy shopping street of Kalverstraat in the heart of Amsterdam, the debut store spans 1,500 square meters over three floors, and offers the complete ranges for Topshop, including its Unique catwalk collection and Boutique line as well as Topman’s premium LTD collection. The store interior has been designed to offer a variety of spacial and atmospheric environments, depending on gender and product, to clearly identify the different Arcadia fashion destinations within the store. Collection rooms are created within the space by careful use of finishes and lighting.
The existing building, previously a book store, offered up a number of challenges for our Interior Architecture team including linking the rear building at ground floor by raising the existing floor levels and rationalisation of the customer circulation stairs. Topshop currently operates via a network of 318 of its own stores in the UK and 9 more in the United States. Until now the rest of the world has had access to the brand via 137 franchises located in 40 different countries, as well as concessions in department stores.
The store opened to the public on 26th February with over 9,000 visitors passing through the doors on the first day.
