Glenman Corporation awarded rpa:group with RIBA stage 4-6 for the scheme, which saw the narrow site being utilised to its optimum potential, which resulted in the construction of eleven high quality new family homes.
The design fully utilises the corner setting and establishes visual interest, with a façade that is animated by deep window reveals and striking metal balconies. Other elements such as brick detailing provide articulation and compliment the surrounding architectural vernacular.
The interiors are fitted with modern white kitchens and bathrooms, and numerous floor to ceiling windows have been incorporated to allow as much natural daylight as possible to penetrate.
Sustainability has been at the core of the project, which has a fully insulated roof, that has been equipped with a cutting-edge photovoltaic (PV) system. PV systems significantly reduce energy bills by converting sunlight directly into electricity.
Externally, landscaping includes newly planted hedgerows and a low perimeter brick wall to further enhance the streetscape.
