rpa:group provided project management on this prominent store in the high end shopping centre in London’s Westfield.
The original design of this store was inspired by the concept created in collaboration with Catalan designer Martí Guixé, for the stores of the commercial centres Fünf-höfe in Munich and L’IIla in Barcelona, which turned the stores into a meeting point for all people visiting the new centres.
The design uses the iconography of ‘obstruction markings’, but Camper – with its particular irony, turns the tide and changes an obstacle into a meeting point. Both the walls and the windows are covered by obstruction marking-like rectangles in red and white (transparent for the windows) creating a showy contrast and making it impossible to simply pass by!
