Waterstones redeveloped a number of their bookshops and appointed rpa:group to provide full Project Management services for the scheme. This included site supervision, managing of contractors, client and landlord liaison, supervision of planning applications, programming and coordinating with CDM advisors.
All refurbishments took place in existing stores and included new shop fronts for some, with all receiving new LED Lighting design and improved store layouts, as well as new fixtures and fittings and various maintenance procedures.
Some of these Waterstones operated a coffee concession on the premises, which underwent refurbishment and rebranding, to become Cafe W areas instead. Externally, new signage was implemented, featuring a hanging gold “W” that is identifiable as part of the Waterstones brand evolution.
