Established in 2009, PureGym has expanded exponentially, with over a million members and is today recognised as Britain’s largest gym chain. As part of its ongoing growth policy, PureGym will continue to expand by 20-30 sites each year. The reason for the success of PureGym is that it is making quality fitness and training available to the masses, by offering flexible and affordable fitness and training opportunities.
rpa:group’s Project Management division has been supporting PureGym with the delivery of various new sites in greater London, and further afield. Some of the sites were previously used for retail or warehousing purposes and required extensive conversion works to bring them in line with the PureGym standards and requirements. Some of the smaller format sites provided challenges such as compromised access for construction. However, when operational, these are ideally located to take advantage of commuter footfall as they are situated directly opposite busy mainline transport hubs.
The opening of the new gyms forms part of an ongoing relationship between rpa:group and PureGym, with other sites identified for the expansion programme.
