The extended store offers its customers access to the latest health and beauty products, everyday toiletries, beauty treatments and luxury fragrances and Superdrug’s own-brand cosmetics range, Studio London. It also features a beauty studio that has also doubled in size, where customers can access professional treatments at affordable prices without needing an appointment that include eyebrow, lash, nail and piercing services.
As part of our long-standing relationship with owner of the Superdrug brand, AS Watson, rpa:group was tasked with working alongside our client to deliver the new store by providing a range of Architectural and PD services. The works included an extension to the left and the right of the existing unit to increase the retail space from circa 5,000 to 9,890 sq. ft.
rpa:group’s Design Studio was tasked with bringing additional creative edge to the newly expanded entrance and corner elevation. The combination of an enhanced material palette brought dynamic texture and pattern to the fabric of the exterior, with impactful lighting within the structure creating an increased sense of theatre.
Throughout the 15-week construction programme, the existing unit was able to remain open to trade before being incorporated into the new expanded store for the grand opening.
The store forms part of an ambitious expansion plan for the retailer, that has also announced that it is set to open in 25 new UK locations, as it celebrates its 60th year of trading.
