With a degree in Quantity Surveying and a chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Richmond brings with him over 30 years of experience, covering the full spectrum of construction activity in both building and civil engineering and spanning all aspects of Quantity Surveying. This includes river drainage, bridges, embankments, roads, warehouses, historic monuments, offices and commercial space, mixed-use developments, nursing homes, shopping centres, residential apartments, religious buildings, leisure facilities, oil and gas, transportation and rail.

Richmond AkomfrahHaving worked in different locations across the globe, Richmond has garnered invaluable international experience. This includes time spent in the Middle East and working for five of the top 10 Global Cost Consultancies, including Turner and Townsend, EC Harris (now Arcadis), Davis Langdon (now Aecom), Cyril Sweet (now part of Currie & Brown) and Franklyn & Andrews (now part of Mott Macdonald).

Some notable highlights of Richmond’s career include cost planning on the Ferrari Theme Park in Abu Dhabi and being engaged as Commercial Manager on the mixed-use Jeddah Gate Development project in Saudi Arabia.

Closer to home, Richmond was involved in cost planning, optioneering, and master-planning some £Multi-Billion City Centre regeneration projects that include Liverpool City Centre, Sheffield City Centre, Stratford Town, Kings Cross, and master planning the £Multi-Billion West Southall Development Project. Richmond has also played a monitoring role in the development of warehouses and relocation of London Olympic Site Businesses.

Within the leisure sector, Richmond was the project surveyor on the refurbishment of the London Eye and was a Cost Planner on new stadium options for Fulham Football Club. He has also worked on projects within the transport sector that include Heathrow Airport, Crossrail and in the financial sector, he was responsible for providing post contract QS services on the refurbishment of thirty-five branches of Midland Bank, HSBC Banking Group.

Even royalty has benefitted from Richmond’s expertise, as project QS with the Royal Parks and Palaces Group on refurbishment and new build works at Buckingham Palace and other royal palaces, Kew Gardens and Hampton Court. His is currently working with PureGym, Accor and Water Babies providing QS services.
