The company was initially established in 2009, and has already expanded exponentially, with over a million members and is today recognised as Britain’s largest gym chain. As part of its ongoing growth policy, Pure Gym will continue to expand by 20-30 sites each year.
rpa:group’s Project Management division has been supporting Pure Gym with the delivery of various new Pure Gym sites in greater London, and further afield in areas such as Hitchin, Telford, and Bridgewater. Some of the sites were previously used for retail or warehousing purposes and are requiring extensive conversion works to bring them in line with the Pure Gym standards and requirements.
Some of the smaller format sites provided challenges such as compromised access for construction activity. However, when operational, these are ideally located to take advantage of commuter footfall as they are situated directly opposite busy mainline Tube stations. The openings of the new Pure Gym sites are anticipated to be by the end of January 2019.
