Following completion of site works within 6 weeks from commencement, the team was appointed as Architects and Project Managers for the latest branch in Oxford for the restaurant group. Founded in 2004, Leon’s first outlet opened on London’s Carnaby Street and six months after opening was named the ‘Best New Restaurant in Great Britain’ at The Observer Food Monthly Awards. There are currently 37 Leon restaurants, with plans to open more worldwide. Leon opened 12 new sites in 2015 and 11 more in 2016. It has also opened its first international branch, in Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. Leon is a fast moving chain with a modern and progressive interior design concept where every restaurant is bespoke to the actual building itself and to the local area. The sleek concrete finishes, concept graphics, cosy ambient lighting and the use of glass, metal, wood and leather are all key to telling the Leon story and are an important part of the core of the business. Blown up images from Leon’s ‘Take Out or Take In’ brand identity, that appears full size on one wall, are also used on table tops to create a cohesive theme throughout the dining area. Ephemera, including art deco style posters, has also been created to present strong visual branding that successfully elevates the fast food experience and achieves a genuinely unique look in the trending healthy fast food sector.
