Despite some rather rusty players, with many not having swung a bat in over twenty years, we managed a respectable 213/5 in 35 overs. This was probably bolstered by CEO Nigel Collett’s nephew Jack, who plays for Portsmouth Cricket Club stepping in to lend our team a hand behind the stumps!
We went on to bowl out client side The Elvetham for 140. Man of the match was rpa:group’s Director of Architecture, Mark Cherrett whose ability with the bat and ball was reminiscent of Botham, retiring on 50 and with a bowling figure of 1 for 9 off 5 overs.
The game was played in good spirits and ended with a BBQ in the beautiful grounds of the Elvetham Hotel in Hampshire. The hotel and various ancillary buildings are currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment and development programme, for which rpa:group is providing Project and Cost Management and Architectural services.
The team at rpa:group would like to thank Jastar Capital, The Elvetham and DuBoulay for making it such an enjoyable event and we are looking forward to the rematch!
