rpa:group were responsible for the architectural consultancy for this mixed use scheme located in the vibrant heart of Cardiff city centre.
The project comprised the re-purposing of an eight story 1960’s office block along with the addition of a four story extension to the rear. A further floor was added, stepping in from the parapet line along with the enclosure of an external staircase. This four million pound project had further complications in that the restaurant on the ground floor had to trade through the build period and it is also the main mobile phone antenna hub for three mobile phone suppliers.
The project handed over on time for the 2013 academic year. It has been completed with a gym, cinema and work rooms for the complete student experience.
