Aparthotel Adagio Glasgow Central

a city upliftment opportunity

brief

The iconic Grade A Listed Custom House on the banks of the River Clyde has been fully redeveloped to include a new purpose built 162-bed Adagio aparthotel. The Aparthotel links to The Custom House via a covered courtyard and glazed roof and offers beautiful design-led public spaces that include a library and a gym.

insight

The striking and modern Aparthotel has been sensitively designed with strong references to the ‘industrial might’ of the Glasgow shipbuilders and compliments the architectural vernacular of the local area. Internally, considerate attention to detail includes elements in the fixtures and fittings that also reference Glasgow’s shipbuilding past.

The scheme forms part of a larger upliftment programme for a new leisure and hospitality quarter that is breathing new life into the city’s centrally located riverside
