rpa:group to the rescue of flooded Made.com Berlin store

The Berlin home of the much-admired retailer MADE.COM, known for its diverse range of high-end and beautifully crafted furniture and homewares, suffered an unfortunate mishap due to flooding.

The cause was due to a problem with a roof leak, which resulted in extensive damage to the multi-level store, which opened its doors in 2019 on Rosenthaler Strasse, one of the most desirable retail streets in the city.

The striking Art Nouveau style building is home to a ground floor and second-floor showroom, which required a complete strip out with the replacing of internal walls, repairing of ceilings, new lighting, flooring, and air conditioning units. New fixtures and fittings also needed to be manufactured and a new electricity board installed.

As rpa:group originally provided the Project Management, Quantity Surveying, and Interior Architecture services for this and other new European showrooms, the brand appointed us to provide full Project Management services to oversee the repair works. The situation was also treated as an opportunity to make further changes and enhancements to the store.

Works were successfully completed in phases and the store was able to reopen its doors to customers in early 2022.
