Merging heritage and luxury in London apartment scheme

rpa:group’s role as Architect and Lead Designer, sees a successful completion of upmarket residential scheme in London’s North Kensington.

49 Bassett Road is a distinctive period building that is being transformed into five luxurious apartments and a remarkable house. It is the latest scheme for Fruition Properties, an award-winning house builder focused on developing design-led properties within London and rpa:group will act as lead architect, on all phases from planning to completion.

The development is in one of the first designated conservation areas in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and serves as a significant reminder of London’s proud architectural heritage. As it is surrounded by Victorian and Edwardian properties, the original facade of 49 Bassett Road is being retained and restored.

Behind the Victorian facade, the interiors of each apartment and the associated house have been designed to an exceptional standard, featuring expansive open-plan living spaces and high specification throughout. Kitchens are bespoke and contemporary in style, while each master bedroom features a luxurious en-suite and adjoining dressing area. Refined details include feature glass and timber staircases, as well as cornicing with LED lighting. The development also includes an internal passenger lift and many of the apartments have private outdoor spaces.

While careful consideration and attention to detail has been given to fully accommodate modern day living requirements, elegant traditional elements have also been retained. These include bay windows, high ceilings, vintage style entrance tiles and a communal staircase, with wrought iron balustrades.

49 Bassett Road is among other recent projects that we undertook for Fruition Properties and marks the continued successful partnership with our long standing client.
