Having worked alongside LEON to deliver new stores across the UK, The Republic of Ireland, Europe, and Scandinavia, rpa:group was chosen to deliver new LEON UK fit-outs on London’s Kings Road, Camden, Little Strand and Kent’s Bluewater Shopping Centre.
The “DNA” of the brand is still inherent in the new restaurants, with the use of classic brand imagery on the walls, such as the ‘LEON story’ and the ‘Hand holding the orange’. However, there has also been an opportunity for a new concept to emerge, with a strong focus on the use of sustainable materials such as recycled plastic panels for wall cladding and counters, which have been updated in terms of design. To resonate with the location of each restaurant, the concept was adapted so that each is unique and incorporates elements that echo the individual community. Bluewater for example is a double entrance restaurant and the design incorporates various graphics that are purely unique to Bluewater.
Furthermore, the use of digital technology has been rolled out in all the new restaurants. Customers are still able to order at the counter but have the option to order from numerous digital kiosks, with digital menus and collection screens to make the process as convenient as possible.
Working with the LEON store design team, rpa:group provided a breadth of support to deliver the new restaurants, completing design drawing packs from initial concept to As-builts. This included providing a range of Design, Interior Architecture, Project and Cost Management services.
