Two Liverpool apartment buildings getting cladding safety overhaul

The two buildings, each with multiple residential units, will be underdoing works to remove existing cladding, to bring them in line with the latest health and safety parameters.

The Overhead on Sefton Street in Liverpool has approximately 56 units, along with ground floor retail units. The works will involve re-cladding fire remediation, with the replacement of the HPL (high pressure laminate) and zinc cladding and the insulation underneath. 

Kaber Court on Liverpool’s Horsfell Street is fully residential, with 100 units spread over 4 blocks. For these premises, all of the HPL is going to be replaced.  

rpa:group has been appointed as the consulting architect for both schemes, and will be working alongside ORSA, an independent compliance consultancy specialising in all matters relating to health, safety, fire and the environment to deliver these. 

Both projects will commence in autumn this year, with an expected completion in 2026.
