Since its inception in 2010, the MADE.COM principle is to work directly with a host of talented designers and producers across the globe. By cutting out the “middlemen”, costs are saved – without compromising on quality and excellent design across a diverse range of high-end and beautifully crafted furniture and home wares.
The new home for the Amsterdam showroom is within a shopping area known as “Nine Streets”; an eclectic and high-end shopping neighbourhood, where vendors offer anything from artisan handmade chocolates, to luxury personal wares and home décor.
Situated within a “monument” listed building, the large ground floor showroom is differentiated by striking arches. A staircase leads to an upper floor area, which houses the first MADE apartment, designed to showcase the brand’s high end design in the context of a real home. The location is a haven for instagrammers, featuring bright red arched doorways, two tone walls juxtaposed with hardwood floors and stained glass partitions, which give the room sets a homely feel, while retaining a modern design aesthetic. The MADE apartment will host a series of events and workshops, as well as overnight stays for a lucky few.
The MADE.COM showroom in Berlin opened its doors at the end of October on Rosenthaler Strasse, one of the of the most desirable retail streets in the city. A striking Art Noveau style building is home to the new showroom, with a bustling courtyard running alongside it, with cafe’s and other retailers also enjoying its “secret” location. The showroom offers plenty of space, with a ground floor and mezzanine for product display and events. In addition, a second floor office space has been developed to serve MADE.COM employees.
